Pecan Grove Park


Pecan Grove Park is located at 5326-5706 Old State Highway 66 in Rowlett, Texas. The park offers twenty-seven acres of space for vacationers. The location includes a playground, water park, picnic areas, nearby trails, and a community center.

 

Paddle Point Park


Paddle Point Park is located at 6301 Miller Road (#6677) in Rowlett, Texas. This location is considered a nice and quiet place to enjoy nature. Recently, new site improvements have been started to add additional amenities for future visitors.

 

Shorewood Park


Shorewood Park is located at Woodlake Drive and Williams Way in Rowlett, Texas. This location offers a small playground, paths for walking, a basketball court, a covered pavilion, and a place to enjoy the outdoors. Restrooms are available as well as nearby hiking trails.

 

Terry Park


Terry Park is located at 517 Terry Lane in Heath, Texas. This park location offers courtesy docs, picnic areas, and parking. Terry Park includes the following additional amenities: pavilion, small playground area, walking trail, access to fishing, and boat dock.

 

Ablon Park


Ablon Park is located at 3850 Ablon Trail in Garland, Texas. The park features picnic areas, a playground, pavilion, parking, nearby trails, drinking fountain, and sports fields. The park can accommodate approximately eighty people safely.


Harry Myers Dog Park


Nearby Lake Ray Hubbard, you will find access to Harry Myers Park and Harry Myers Dog Park. The dog park is located at 815 East Washington in Rockwall, Texas. The hours of operation are from 5 am to 10 pm. The dog park offers a large amount of space for your dogs to run and play.

 

Rowlett Community Park


Rowlett Community Park is located at 8500 Saint Andrews Lane in Rowlett, Texas. This park offers over 130 acres of space with playground areas, sports fields, nearby trails, fishing piers, and places for a family picnic. The site includes grills, a pavilion, volleyball courts, and restrooms.

 

John Paul Jones Park


John Paul Jones Park is a popular destination on Lake Ray Hubbard. The park is located at 4099 Zion Road in Garland, Texas. This location offers picnic areas, restrooms, grilling stations, and fishing piers. Parking is obtainable along with a boat ramp to access the lake.

 

Windsurf Bay Park


Windsurf Bay Park is located at 5556 Locust Grove Road in Garland, Texas. This park area offers a playground for the children, picnic areas, plus a pavilion. A grilling station is on location along with sports courts. Nearby fishing is available on beautiful Lake Ray Hubbard.

 

Samuell Farm


Samuell Farm is located near Lake Ray Hubbard at 100 US-80 in Mesquite, Texas. The farm location offers a wooded park area, which includes access to fishing, walking the trails, and picnicking areas. A playground is obtainable for the children and volleyball courts for the older ones to enjoy.

Fishing Report from TPWD (Jul. 2)

GOOD. Water stained; 83 degrees; 0.10 feet below pool. Fishing patterns are holding steady. White bass are excellent in the mornings with surface activity common on the flats. Throw small swimbaits, tail spinners or rattle traps. Later in the morning white bass are moving out to deeper water on long points, road beds and levees. Crappie are related to brush piles in 12-18 feet of water. Crappie are showing up at bridge columns and moving around drop-offs going from structure to structure. Catfish are good in wooded timber 15-18 feet of water prepared punch bait. Chumming will help bring the schools into your areas. Report by John Varner, John Varner's Guide Service.
