Fishing Report from TPWD (May 28)

GOOD. Water stained; 75 degrees; 0.36 feet above pool. White bass are feeding as shallow as 2 feet on points and flats early in the morning. Birds have started working in the shallow areas so follow the birds and throw small swimbaits, tail spinners or rattle traps. You can also blind cast top waters and catch numbers of fish. Later in the morning white bass are moving out to deeper water on long points, road beds and levees. Crappie are relating to brush piles 15-20 feet of water. Crappie are showing up at bridge columns and they are moving around drop off going from structure to structure. Catfish are good on the rocks around the lake using a slip cork and prepared punch bait. Chumming will help bring the schools into your areas. Report by John Varner, John Varner's Guide Service.
