Alert: ...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT MONDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values between 105 and 112.

* WHERE...North, Central, and East Texas.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM CDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity will increase the risk for heat-related illnesses to occur, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.

Instructions: Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Lake Ray Hubbard Fishing Report from TPWD (Jul. 8)

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 84 degrees; 0.09 low. Largemouth bass are fair on diving crankbaits, skirted jigs, TX rigged plastic worms in timber. White bass are good on tiny torpedoes and small tail spinners early then fishing slabs and jigging spoons on main lake points, humps, and ridges in 13-18’. Crappie are good near bridges, brush piles and submerged trees in with minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on baited holes in 12-18’ on the north end of the lake.
